How to Memorialize a Loved One

Choosing to preserve the legacy of a loved one is a beautiful way to honor your family member and support the mission of Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. Our care teams and members of the Philanthropy Department will work with you and your loved ones to ensure your memorial is preserved in perpetuity.

Below are a few examples of how families have supported Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island while memorializing a loved one.

  • Memorial Bricks – Each brick is inscribed with three lines of text, allowing families to place a favorite quote, Bible passage, a loved one's name etc. The brick is then placed in the Memorial Garden’s Walkway of Remembrance.
  • Memorial Benches – Each bench is inscribed with the family’s name and is placed in the Memorial Garden.
  • Memorial Tree - As Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island continues to create our Garden of Remembrance, there will be an ongoing opportunity for families to memorialize their loved ones by donating the funds for a specific tree.
  • A Lifetime Memorial Gift - By including Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island in your estate plans you can endow your memorial gift in perpetuity. Please see Planning Giving for more information.
  • Annual Memorial Gift - If a family chooses to make an annual donation in memory of their loved one, Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island will recognize the gift in our annual report.
